You are invited, pass the word
Please scroll through the posts and leave your thoughts in the comment sections. YOU are invited...PASS THE WORD!
Who's In?
Let us know in the comments if you plan to come and who you want to bring with you. The more the merrier. IT will be a great opportunity to re-united with gals from Hurricane and the surrounding areas as well as family, etc.
This is meant to be an open, FUN, no-pressure event. So....please come with love in your hearts and a desire to reconnect. We are all older, fatter, grey-er, more wrinkled and have much, much more life experience. Come happy or just ready to have fun and be happy. Leave your insecurities, egos and preconceived notions at home.
I read somewhere that our biggest problem as humans is that we like to make up other people's stories in our heads. We repeatedly go over events and stories making up how the other person felt or convincing ourselves of what they were thinking or why they did what they did, all of which is probably incorrect. So think about your own unique story, and think about what you can contribute to make this hootenanny a huge success. Realize that everyone has been living their own adventure in life, some of it good and some of it difficult, but all of us are living each day, working to be and do the best we can.
I love all you guys and I am SO EXCITED to host the 1st Annual Hurricane Hootenanny!

Recipes and Potluck
I encourage you to bring recipes with your potluck treats. If you forget, you can post them here. I will provide bottled water, Lemonade and prbably some sodas. I will have big ice chests (If you have a couple you want to loan to the cause...) so you can bring what you want and a couple to share.
I will also supply plates, cups, and plastic ware along with napkins.
In addition to ice chests, I also need long tables and chairs. I would encourage you to pack your comfy camp chairs with you just in case.

Things for Sale
If you have items that you sell, such as Nikki's jewlery, Nat's purses, Tricia's vinyl, Sammi's pictures, etc. Please post here so we can get an idea of what will be coming. I have a couple of offices in the hangar that we can set up as a boutique. Just need to know what's coming and try to gauge the interest.
What kind of activities?
I am thinking that I would open my home and hangar on the afternoon of Septemer 4 (Friday) to whoever wants to come and hang out. It is nice in the evenings after the sun goes down. We could do a potluck dinner and then I am open to suggestions for the evening. Please post your thoughts as comments and indicate if you are willing to be in charge or help with the activity. A couple of thoughts are, stargazing, a fortune teller or story teller, a moonlight hike or walk or ATV trip up the Honeymoon trail.
I have tons of beads and stuff for jewelry making that I will have available. If you want to do beads- does anyone else have tools or skills? I can string but need someone who knows how to secure the ends and clasps to help.
I have an offer to set up a quilt to tie
Of course on Saturday, we can start as early as you want, with a brunch (potluck again would be fabulous). We will have a full lunch set up at 1:00 throughout the afternoon, so you can come at your leisure. Let me know your thoughts on this as well. Since it is hot, I will have the cooler running in the hangar so it should be pretty comfortable.
What other ideas are out there?

What are your thoughts on bringing young daughters? How young is too young?
Please post your thoughts as comments. Some of you have asked, so I think it needs to be thrown out for comment. I would like to figure out how to do a child care site, any suggestions would be great! As well as volunteers to watch the kids during the day.

Welcome to the Hootenanny Site!
Well, FINALLY! This site is for all of us to use to help plan the Hootenanny, ask questions (where did you get that? Does anyone have...?) Please share this blog site with your sisters, moms, girlfriends, aunts, grandmas, cousins, daughters and anyone else (girls please) who would be fun to have in the mix.
We are planning the 1st annual Hootenanny for the Peach Days weekend in Hurricane. I will host it at my home/hangar at Sky Ranch-South of Hurricane.
If you have ideas fo the open crafting (think Relief Society work day) please throw them out here. They need to be easy enough that people can pick them up and just do them or if you want to stick around and demo or show people how to do them, please list that as well.
Some of you have asked about having stuff there to buy, like a boutique. I am not opposed to that and would like to hear how everyone feels about it and what you want to bring to sell. Pictures please! I will figure out how you can post directly to the blog, but for now, use the comment section and/or email your entries and pictures and I will be glad to post them. annanderson373@aol.com
I hope this will be really fun and a great success that we all build on, but it will take all of us. So please share!!! The blog and your ideas.
